How can I get above 7 in IELTS writing?

Important points to keep in mind while attempting writing task-1 

1.check the type of graph whether it is bar graph or line graph. 

2.Try to write about 180 words. Do not exceed word limit. This will lead to deduction of your 0.5 bands. 

3.Give accurate and relevant  information. Do not write effects and reasons. 

4.do not copy the statement. Try to write the introduction using synonymous and your own style. 

5.do not repeat the words. For example, you can write, "percentage of wheat is about 10%" .In other line ,do not write "percentage of rice is about 20% ".Write  "percentage of rice is around 20%".

6.write comparisons and similarities between percentages and numbers given in graphs

7.if information given is too much. Try to write 2-3 points in one line. 

8.try to use more and more connectors like, in addition, while, however, although, moreover, meanwhile, whilst etc. 

9.start writing paragraph from very left corner. Do not leave place at left while writing paragraph.

The given bar graph demonstrates the free time activities performed by children of Australia aged 5-14.

Of the 10,000 children that were interviewed, all the boys and girls stated that they enjoyed watching TV or videos in their spare time. In addition, the second most popular Activity, attracting 80% of boys and 60% of girls, was playing electronic or computer games. While girls rated activities such as art and craft highly just under 60% stated that they enjoyed these in their spare time only 35% of boys opted for creative pastimes. 

Skateboarding was relatively less popular amongst both boys and girls, although it still attracted 35% of boys and 25% of girls
